Left for Madison, WI on Friday morning to spend a couple of days at a dealer trade show and get the scope on the 2007 product. Being that 'Sales' is my primary responsiblilty at
the shop I like to have an in-depth understanding of what is available to us and them.
My primary objective was to attend sales and marketing seminars to acquire some ideas of how the shop can update things to better serve our customers. I think that I came away with a lot of good ideas that hopefully will be seen at the shop in the next few months. Other areas of interest for me were things such as website building tools, bike-fitting, the new Shimano XTR controls, SRAM Force controls, and a few other components such as handlebars, cranks, and wheelsets. I need a wider set of bars on my road bike and always dig looking at wheels.
I bumped into a couple of friends such as Pappa Vinnie, Dirtram,
Sean, and a few new people that I met through these friends. Others that I saw but did not speak with included Gary Fisher in this way pimp suit and
Bob Roll typing on a computer with one finger. I was really hoping to meet these two but it was not to happen this time. All in all it was a good time with great people and great food to boot.
