• Tour of Qatar

  So the Tour of Qatar started yesterday with a 6km Team Time Trial. Such a short TTT is there simply to put someone in the leader's jersey and get riders placed through out the field. Every rider in the field finished in less than two minutes behind the leader, actually all but six were sub-one minute back. Losing time on day one, not so good.   snow on the ground this weekend. About 4 more inches of white powder yesterday morning which equated to about another hour of shoveling. That makes for 7 inches of snow and two hours of shoveling so far this year. Not too bad. Remember, everything is training. • Hey whitey!!

  Busy , busy weekend. Feels like I was always on the go from the time I left POS at 3pm on Friday. Friday night was the POS holiday party at the Elks Club in Waterloo. Not a bad time. Mingled with the big shots for a while and then had some delicious parmesean chicken. Yuuummmmmy!! I also received a free massage as a door prize. • Friday.......

  It has been a testing week. Amy was sick, I was sick, now I'm on antibiotics, finally feeling pretty good today. I am scheduled to attend a holiday party tonight and another one tomorrow. I really don't want to go tonight so we will see what happens. 17F this morning and of course my truck was out of gas so away to Kwik Star I went. Filled it up with 1.959/gal gasoline and froze my butt off what for it to fill up. • More time

  Hours are cut to the bare minimum at the shop now. I have a whopping 2 hours this week. That means that tonight is free and I should be able to get on the rollers. Heck, maybe I'll be able to get the Rush out if I get out of work on time. That would be too cool. Video clip today showing s very upset young lady concerning of all things a gift from her father. • Brunch

  Super busy weekend with no riding of any kind. I was free & clear to go out for a while Saturday but there was too much going on at home. We had to get things cleaned up and organized so that our smallish 900 sq. ft. house could hold 25 people at once. I honestly was a little worried about it. Sunday was Rhea's Baptism in Cedar Falls. • Clearing up

  I was hit with a cold this week, it actually started on Tuesday and I am blaming myself for riding on the gravel grinder on Monday. I feel 10X better now which brings me to the dilemma of what to do tomorrow. Kerkove had mentioned riding again this weekend but he's been sicker than me this week so we will see how that goes. Do I go out for a ride tomorrow? I should, that is for sure. Need to keep things going in preparation for Ouachita.   For those of you who do not have the pleasure of riding gravel roads for training or even fun, I present to you a pictoral to show what gravel looks like after the ride. During the summer rides on gravel, bikes are usually covered with a fine powder by the time the ride gets over.
