New for the 2008 season for me is the fact that I am running Campagnolo drivetrains on my road and cross bikes. Unfortunately I only have two wheelsets that are Campy compatible and hence I have no spares, which I really like to have on hand. My Six13 is still running Shimano and I have three sets of wheels for that one bike I decided that I should probably either sell a set or convert it to Campagnolo. Converting it seemed to be the less expensive route so I inquired about getting a Campy freehub for one set of wheels although I found nothing so it was back to the drawing board on that. Then of course my buddy Bottke had mentioned the cassettes from American Classic that use a Shimano spline for the freehub and are spaced out for Campagnolo drivetrains. Brilliant!!! Since I had to stop at Bike Tech yesterday to use a truing stand (Fulcrum Racing 1 out of true) and talk with Brent I decided to ask him how much these cassettes go for and wouldn't you know it, he just happened to have a 12-25 in stock. It had to be a sign from the gods so I bought it and my spare wheels should be no problem now. Woohoo!!!!

In the Giro d'Italia today we have a 39.4km Individual Time Trial. It's the "race of truth" to see who is the fastest in one huge effort. Some riders will have to try for a great time so that they are not dropped too bad in the upcoming mountains while others will begin their own personal assault on the GC leader board. Today's stage even has a couple of nice little climbs in it so it should be a good one to keep an eye on.
