San Francisco Olympic torch protest

I'm not there, but some friends of mine went up to the city to watch the fireworks. "Free Tibet" protesters and pro-China counterprotesters have lined up to shout each other down and whack each other with flags and sticks as the Olympic Torch Bus runs over people (shown in the video below).

Nobody seems to know where the Olympic Torch is at. The torch was lit and was carried into the side door of Pier 48 and it has ... disappeared.

In bicycle related news, one of the American torch bearers today is a cycling advocate from Fayetteville, Georgia with the unfortunate name of Bonnie Bobbitt. Good luck to Bonnie and I hope you enjoy your visit to The City By the Bay. David "Fredcast" Bernstein is in town today also watching the Tibet protests.
